<>< Smells fishy <><

Had been in the fishing mood for the past week. be it Spamicken, who started me fishing(again) , or the clan's monthly skill challenge, which gave me a reason to fish, I have decided to get a fishing level, or at least one that is decent for players of my level. I have no idea how long this surge will be able to last, but I'm rather determined to earn some big money from the monks, since they are starting to come at a tolerable rate. Another plus point of fishing is that it doesn't require that much attention as opposed to other skills like mining and firemaking, which requires focus while training. Since it is not that clicking-intensive, i am able to complete some work or catch some Olympic action while fishing.

Went on another trip to conquer the clan wars with my clan Blessings. I must say, we are getting better and better by the day! Just our last trip, we managed to take down a team of 24 players with just 7 of us. That's really something to be happy about, and i can't hide my excitement for the 'dangerous' clan wars to be released. Blessings will kick some serious butts!

On our conquest...

Much had been happening around me, Olympics, English o level oral examinations, prelims coming right up, revision, i have been kept quite busy, partly explaining for my recent lack of posts. On the note of the Olympics, 2 swimmers, especially have caught my attention. Micheal Phelps, the brilliant swimming machine, and Stephanie Rice, also a gold medalist. Both of them amazed me with their skills and speed. The male German gymnasts and the female Chinese team was exceptional too. If you haven't been watching the Olympics, it is time to start. Still, with all the updates and all, it is not that easy for me to forgo Runescape, an hour or two everyday would satisfy me enough.

Another thing, a runecrafting guild and a runecrafting minigame was released yesterday. Haven't been able to try them out though, since I'm missing 1 (!!!) level. Besides, i don't fancy the idea of distracting myself by stopping the fishing stuff and working on another skill. Hmm, i guess I'll squeeze some time out for runecrafting training when i need a break from fishing. I'm already hearing many compliments of the minigame from my fellow clan mate, Demonmage, so I'll look forward to the time i get that darned level and into the guild. ^^

The 100 F2P Combat

After much effort, i have finally made it to 100 combat in f2p. Though i lost the competition to Kat, it was kinda cool to train combat again after stopping it for a while. Yes, 85 strength was reached, but it was not able to deliver the finishing touch to 100 combat, it was an attack level afterwards that did the job. Whatever it is, i am glad that i managed to hang on all these while. Thinking back, 100 seemed so far away and unreachable when i just started, and now, WOW! The feeling is just great. Enough boasting. But really, nothing much have happened other than this. Unless you count random level ups and 85 strength achievements.

On another note, the behind the scenes for August revealed some screenshots of the "dangerous" clan wars i have been waiting for. I can't wait for the opportunity to relive the adrenaline rush of running around and killing other players with my clan. This would definitely present itself as a chance for Blessings to shine. :D
In addition, there is news of a new runecrafting minigame and a runecrafting guild. This is a superb piece of news for those who was bored to tears with the 'old' way of runecrafting, the old way of "getting essence, running to altar, banking runes, getting more essence..." might just become a thing of the past! Whatever it might be, a new change would definitely be something i would look forward to.

Also, i seem to be more apt at controlling my Runescape-playing urges and do work that is supposed to be done with more effort. Which means that i can expect some improvement in my studies. Hurray!

Standstill

Yes, that's what happened to my farming. After getting it to 80, which has taken me quite some time, i have decided to take a break from farming. Still, i am proud to say that i had been rather motivated and focused on this skill all the way till lv 80, but now i need to take a little time off and concentrate on other skills. Anyway, i have been keeping myself rather busy with slayer lately, pushing it from 55 to 63, and i am now only a few thousand exp away from 64. I am intending to get that new combined slayer mask and getting myself some combat experience while completing the tasks. while typing this post, i am already on my way to 99 f2p combat, with roughly 20k defence exp to go. Getting to 100 f2p would probably require me 2 more strength levels, and 85 strength is sounding very appealing at this moment.

My results for my term 3 exams are out, and the signs aren't good. I am afraid i had been spending too much time on Runescape, and had been negligent about my studies. Maybe I'll be cutting down the time i am spending on Runescape. Just maybe, or I'll probably get my arse up from the chair and do some work while playing Runescape next time.

Sidetracking a bit, a have recently met a British player in Runescape, xx m3rk3d xx, who insulted me after finding out i was an Asian, and eventually dragged my country, Singapore into his onslaught of insulting remarks. He started asking me how it felt like being an Asian, and then moved on to question if Singapore had appropriate toilet systems, and if we had proper education. The most laughable fact is that he thinks that Singapore is an undeveloped, poor country, and kept insisting on that. Well, he can say what he wants, but his ignorance will be shown in every word he utters.

That night, i happened to see a poem about Racism on Sean Covey's " 7 Habits for Highly Effective Teens", and would like to share it with everyone reading this.

The Cold Within
James Patrick Kinney

Six humans trapped by happenstance
in black and bitter cold
Each possessed a stick of wood,
Or so the story's told.

Their dying fire in need of logs,
the first woman held hers back
For on the faces around the fire
She noticed one was black.

The next man looking 'cross the way
Saw one not of his church
And couldn't bring himself to give
The fire his stick of birch.

The third one sat in tattered clothes
He gave his coat a hitch,
Why should his log be put to use
To warm the idle rich?

The rich man just sat back and thought
Of the wealth he had in store,
And how to keep what he had earned
From the lazy, shiftless poor.

The black man's face bespoke revenge
As the fire passed from his sight,
For all he saw in his stick of wood
Was a chance to spite the white.

And the last man of this forlorn group
Did naught except for gain,
Giving only to those who gave
Was how he played the game.

The logs held tight in death's stilled hands
Was proof of human sin,
They didn't die from the cold without,
They died from the cold within.

Hmm found this poem quite meaningful. The last stanza especially push forwards the point that nothing good will come out of prejudice and discrimination.

Interesting Updates

The greatest update this year. Yes, Runescape High Definition(Runescape HD) was released not long ago. Many were ecstatic about this new update, along with the full screen mode. Regrettably, the requirements were too high for my computer to handle, and i had to stick to the old version of the graphics. Although im not enjoying the wonders of the new runescape, the graphics of the lower detail version was also changed, just without the shadows and stuff. Runescape is sure looking good with all the new graphical updates.

It seems that even though kept busy by the bugs of the new graphical update, the Jagex staff are still working hard on updates to the game. From the behind the scenes from July, many were exhilarated to find out that our banks are also going to get a neat update, which includes a new tabbing structure. This is making me excited already, maybe, just maybe, the days where we have to spend time literally taking everything out of our bank to find a little certain item that had been hiding in a corner would be finally gone! Adding to that, there will also be other new functions such as a search button.

Thats not the end, it seems. Item lending will also be released. This would allow players to share items with their friends for a certain period of time. I'm sure i can find many uses for this. Who knows, i may even be able to persuade my friends to lend me some rare items to take screenies with!

There are more to come, a Lumby achievement diary, changes to the tutorial island, a wildy quest, wow the updates just
continue to astound me. If i had ever said anything negative about Jagex's efficiency, i take it back. Jagex has really done a great job this time, and definitely deserves a huge round of applaud, don't you think?

With all these updates in Runescape, i too, have been "updating" my skills. Im closing in on 80 farming, and my next farming goal shall be moved up to 85. I'm hoping that my interest for farming will not start fading anytime soon. Wait, im pretty sure it won't, not after so much effort. I also started to increase my farming round, doing an extra round of willow trees, ranarrs and marigolds everyday, which would give me an approximately 6k more exp.

Furthermore, i have also managed to get my mage and ranged to 70 each, completed a few quests such as legends quest and swan song. I'm also planning to advance my slayer to 65 after hearing the wondrous amount of exp the dust devils apparently gives. Well, i guess that's about it for now. Till next time, cya!

The fight continues

Have resumed training strength lately, now hoping to hit f2p 100 as soon as i possibly can. A recent level up in my hitpoints level has brought me to 97 combat in f2p. Missed the screenie sadly, forgot that i was levelling hp, i switched to another attack style, and got a huge shock when i saw the fireworks. Ogres are still top in my training list, although i have decided to finish up my current slayer task, jellies. Somehow, my kill counts got messed up, and i get the message " we seem to have lost your records in our recent shuffle" from Duradel. I guess I'll still be killing those jellies until i finish my task eventually since they have been giving me rather decent drops.I completed a clue scroll from the jellies a week ago, and was rather disappointed when i only saw 2 runeplate bodies, a guilded wardrobe, some runes and sharks. For this clue scroll, i actually had to complete a few quests, shilo village, underground pass ( which is a pain in the ass!) and family crest. With the the poor quest and clue rewards, i would say my efforts were in vain. The only comfort i could find is that i can now start on the legends quest, and get that cool legends cape that will go well with my usual farming outfit.

As for farming, i have just reached lv 78 a few days ago, and is pushing on to lv 80. 21k exp per day is starting to seem rather slow, i am thinking of doing the quest to open up yet another fruit tree patch in Letya. Farming is becoming harder to level up by the level, and its getting tiring to wait for a whole week or two just to get a level. I'm imginating the horror of getting my farming to the heigher levels of 80, and to be honest, it looks rather discouraging. I think i should work on another cape while im waiting as patiently as i can for farming then.

Ancients magicks is now at my disposal after i completed desert treasure, one of my favourite quetsts of all time. i enjoyed fighting the 4 demons a lot, especially Dessous , the animation where he actually came out of the tomb was fantastic, (sadly i seem to have lost that particular screenie)and i had a great time doing that part in particular. Still at a rather low magic level, i am not gonan waste precious money using ancients at this stage just yet.

Missing in Action.

Had not been on Runescape much the past week due to another game that has managed to keep me interested for some time. Maplestory, an addictive game it is. I got form to start with me, but now hes on runescape less than me! Ugh. Evil runescape-player-sucking-vortex.

Anyway, i was still able to make a few level ups although the time spent on Runescape drastically decreased. For one, i managed to get my farming to 75. Yay! magic tree time! This is where i can start spamming my money on. Not that I'm going to, not yet at least. Hmm... thinking of growing magic trees in celebration, but i wonder how expensive the seeds are... WHATTT? At 200k each, the pricing is absolutely magical. Magically expensive! Maybe I'll just grow *a* magic tree in celebration then.

Although i was not that active the past few days, i was keeping track on the new updates and such. One thing that got me interested was the new level up messages, that was promised to not be disrupted by combat. the first day it came out, my jaw almost dropped. There was no indication of the level you have just gotten! think of the poor people who got 99 on that day! All they would see is a " Congratulations! You have just advanced a (insert 99 skill here) level! ". ugh, i shudder at the thought of the agony and irritation that the poor player, if any would feel at that point. luckily, Jagex did react fast to this little problem, soon, the level up messages were fixed and it certainly does look l33ter than the previous one.

Another update was the quick chat thingy. At first glance, i thought the idea was stupid, as some of the messages found there can easily be typed, faster than the time needed to actually click your way to that particular message. After a short trip to the clan wars, my feel towards this quick chat system changed. Some of the messages there were actually very fun to use as taunts, and i loved repeating them using the f11 key, going " Another one bites the dust!" over and over again :D

Seeing that the first half of this post was written quite some time ago, the 'recent updates' mentioned above are now quite outdated =/

More time had passed, and it seems that my passion for runescape has once returned, under the influence of Kat, i completed 2 quests that i have put off for sometime, temple of ikov and desert treasure.

Desert treasure is now one of my favourite quests, and i found the storyline very interesting. I don't remember liking any quests for a long time now, and dt will probably get me started on questing again. Battling the 4 demons was very fun, i must say, and in the end, it wasn't as dangerous as i sounded, only wished i had done it earlier. And the boots of lightness gotten from the temple of ikov quest has proven itself very handy when i am doing my farming rounds to reduce the weight i am carrying, allowing me to run for a longer period of time.

Another thing, just got my farming to lv 77 with help from my new addition to my farming rounds, willow trees. Hopefully, these 5k increase in the daily exp gain would be helpful to reach my goal of lv 80 farming faster.

There had been a lv 99 rush within the clan recently. So, grats mat on 99 firemaking, dg on 99 cooking and timmy on 99 def!

Combat training had resumed, so Kat, get ready for some close competition. :D

Behold...The 3-digit combat level!

Finally, Tiz has reached 100 combat! thanks to summoning, i am now a lv 100 in p2p worlds. It might take a few more weeks to get the same level from f2p, being just 4 levels short, I'm now back in the race with Kat to reach 100 f2p combat first. Although is just a race, I'm sure it has somehow pushed the both of us to work somewhat harder, for my case, start training combat again. I am also trying to work on my strength, using my new toy, the saradomin sword. This new toy is proving to be quite useful, and getting me some attention as well. Very useful for training strength this sword is, and I'm laughing at the 100 from castle wars who said i wasted my money on this weapon. HAHA! Man, this i one of the best gifts I've ever given myself, and to me, its money well spent.

Another thing I've managed to accomplish, farming! Managed to push my farming up to 73 yesterday, and gotten a total experience of 1 million :-) that's just.... 12 million left! i can make it! *dies from fatigue* But it is certainly nice to see my farming xp slowly going up and slowly getting my levels. Hopefully by taking it slow, i wont find it as tiring as going at full speed, and wont be as expensive. Besides, farming ranarrs had been very profitting lately, and its nice to see the dough rolling in. Having risen to be within the top 25k farmers, my next goal would be the top 10k farmers, which i will be able to get in about 1.4mil more xp :-/ time to sweat and do some farming then!

Had been doing some other stuff, and for this period of time, even started a hunting frenzy. got myself to 58, and got bored lol. and there are other lv ups here and there not much worthy of being talked about. i'll post the screenies below.
