Taking a short break.

Hello guys,

I'm going to be taking a short break from Runescape for now due to a couple of reasons. Firstly, my Prelims and national exams are not too far away and I really need to try and reduce the distractions I have. Secondly, my computer broke down, and while the other one works (this one), it runs Runescape extremely slowly. The lags-even-in-minimum-detail kind of lag. So yeah, not really encouraging me to play much either.

That being said, I might log in every once in a while to farm and if you do catch me on, say hi!

Hopefully I'll be back in about 2-3 months and getting a new computer/laptop early next year!

Cheers,
Tiz.

With 92 Farming, I'm finally halfway there!

After realising that I can actually assist up to 93 Farming using a garden pie, I've been occasionally been helping out at this other chatchat, Assist Clan, which was created specially for players assisting and those in need of assisting to meet and help each other. All other information are in this following post on the Runescape forums. This clan has been pretty useful for me so far, and I usually get my assists within 20-30 minutes, which includes starting on the effigy from the 'starved' stage. I usually use up my farming assists within the same time period as well, since I can just ask the players in need of my assist to hop over to my world and location.

It seems that level up messages don't appear when you level up through assisting. So here's my latest stats (accurate as of 12/08/2010)

Oh, and I got a farming level while assisting another player today, pushing my farming level to 92 now, which is just a teeny step closer to getting that cape... Eventually. Another though popped into my mind while I was talking to the others in Canting just now. Kayla mentioned something along the lines of how she would be willing to trade her (almost)99 constitution for my (at that point, almost) 92 farming. And I know this is probably one of the oldest topics out there, but the issue of prestige which is associated with skills came to my mind. To be honest, the reasons I started training farming aggressively in my early stages was a combination of potential money, Tim's encouragement and the fact that since it wasn't a very widely trained skills, it was very easy for me to make huge advances rank-wise.

Practical as it is, I do consider some capes to me more 'prestigious' than others, and to me, wielding my cooking cape does make a difference to me wielding my defence or fishing cape. Not sure if this is the way I should be heading but at least for now, that's what I feel about different capes, and I really want that farming cape. Hopefully before JaGex comes up with something that makes farming overly easy to train too. Hmm, not sure if I'm correct here, but yeah, to me, some capes just seem to gain my admiration much more than others. And that is on the assumption that I don't know the player at all, I have many friends wielding cooking capes who are simply awesome people. :)

Ooh, and I'm quite hyped about the recent Treasure Trail update and I've completed 2 trails so far, with no luck getting the new items. Still, I'm looking forward to more clue scrolls.
